Picking on a 14 year old kid. Classy.

As others have said (to the OP) 200 travel will throw your geometry way off. Few hardtails are made for this sort of thing. What is your intended use for the bike?

It's the only way the members here can somewhat ensure the 'moderately accurate' information is posted on the forum. If nobody said anything, new members would be taking this kid and his 'advice' seriously.

I believe the way I went about making sure Norco is posting "moderately accurate" information was far more effective than... Pete's way. I believe Norco would agree.

And we are all very aware that class is not one of Mr. Fagerlin's strengths.

As you guys continue to have a conversation over the internet and exchange views with Pete, you must of realized the futility of it all. Pete knows what he is talking about and has, on occasion, given some useful information and he has also helped in stopping the spread of useless information. His methods are a little unorthodox but they get the job done. As numerous people have been very quick to point out, insults over the internet are pointless. Who cares, get your information or start a conversation and have a nice day. If Pete or someone else disagrees with your post and says something about it either ignore it or back it up with some evidence they can't ignore. It's that easy. Also, I realize that by trying to stop the heated discussions that I have now made myself a target.

I agree, it was much more effective. your approach was much more sutle, as to not scare me.

you were polite and gave me advice. Pete said in code, "you a**hole, get the h*** off these forums before i shoot you."

you said, "Hey man, no offense but your posting some stuff that doesnt make sense on here, mind thinking a little more about what you post?" (this is my take on it, correct me if im wrong)

I have a problem with people being d!cks, in real life or on the internet. His 'unorthodox methods' are uncalled for and downright insulting.
But hey, free speech and all, right? I can't stop him from posting. But who knows maybe he'll look at what he's written from a different point of view and realize how childish he is.

I comment on maybe 1 in 100 of Pete's posts, but sometimes I just can't help myself. Most of the time when I see his quote-response posts I just don't read them, which is what he recommends anyway.

Um, no, you really haven't.

No one is trying to make you stop posting. Only to get you to stop posting bad information, and to think a bit more critically about what you are writing before hitting that submit button.

Hell, this is all just free and easy entertainment for me on some slow work nights anyhow.

See now? That is a perfect example. Use a bit of spell check (or whatever you prefer, hell, a dictionary works) and maybe learn to use the shift button now and again.

It's hard to get a point across to anyone when your posts appear to be written by a besotted near-illiterate.

This is why people don't take you seriously, because you post things that simply aren't true, in this case flat out, ridiculous lies. Pete didn't type those things.. it didn't happen.

Don't you get it?

What are you talking about? Pete stated that he has no quarrel with you, but simply with the sometimes nonsensical things you post.

By continuing like this, all you're doing is proving Pete's point, that you're am immature 14 year old kid. Even if he is like you described, you sitting here talking trash is just as bad. That would make you a hypocrite.

If you notice, every argument with Pete goes like this

1. Someone posts something moronic
2. Pete shoots down the stupid post
3. The person decides to take personal offense and take a shot at Pete
4. Pete owns the person

If you observe carefully, its at step 3 that the discussion turns into an argument. And whose fault is that?

Pete has better things to do than argue on the internet with a 14 year old kid. He has no problems with you, but what you post. If like what you said you will think before you post, everything's fine.
