Cycling Jacket From Ali Express

I just received my cycling jacket from Ali Express. I am satisfied with my purchase. It arrived promptly. The only minor issue was that the zipper tab is on the left side. But for $18 I can easily live with it. It has one rear zippered pocket and two zippered side pockets.

You'll find the zipper on the left for a lot of cycling gear, since most of it is of European manufacture/design. Vermarc, SMS, Giordana, etc., etc. ....

Have you ridden in it yet? I tend to avoid any jacket labeled 'water resistant' because they all feel like you are riding inside a sweat lodge.

I have only worn it on a ride once. It was an eleven mile ride. It felt OK for me. Everyone has different standards and comfort levels. I guess it was like when I bought pizza for 99 cents. My expectations were not elevated.

I bought a Subaru Forester in 2016. Loved it, until the driver side seatbelt cover fell apart in the first month. A few months later, it was recalled due possible low transmission fluid. (Lazy Japanese robots.) Then the AC compressor failed on a 90+ degree plus day. Did I mention the faulty battery, the other recall for potentially faulty front passenger airbag wiring and that the transmission warranty was extended to 10 years? (That last one should tell you something.) But I got a good deal on it through work, plus 0% financing for 4 years.

Wosawe. I actually recognize this brand although I have absolutely no idea how good or how bad they are.

Out of curiosity, I looked for chamois cycIing pads after recently getting a serger sewing machine off of Facebook Marketplace for my niece. (Used for sewing hems with four threads unlike a standard sewing machine among other things.)

Looks like Wosawe is the only choice if you're looking for just a synthetic chamois pad but not an entire short or bib.

(Possible NSFW alert: You may or may not find the photos of the cycling underpants, shown under "Related items", disturbing depending on your sensibilities.)

If you want real chamois and are able to improvise, it's my understanding that chamois cloth can usually be found in an auto parts store in their car washing section although these may also be synthetic.

It's for the person that I just realized has been working in the next cubicle for the past 6 years.

This is a typical online review, utterly useless. I don't get the need for people to review a product they took out of a box? Maybe it is just me but when I review a product I will have used it for an extended time period. Quick shipping doesn't matter most things these days ship quickly and even still it has no bearing on the product. "The product shipped super fast but it gave me the plague 3 stars"

It really clouds the field when people cannot actually review the product honestly and realistically. If you haven't used it that is fine hold off the review for a while till you get to use it for a good period of time and put it through some paces. Don't mention anything that isn't directly related to the actual product and it will make for an actual sensible review.

So, that would be like paying $0.99 for a pizza, and it ends up tasting like a $1.39 pizza?

And all this time I thought Ali'sExpress.com was out of Egypt or Morocco. Really good fresh flatbread from that region would be a great pizza starter - lite on the sauce.

More like paying $200 for something that normally costs $2000 or more.

That’s expensive pizza. Is it gold plated or something?

Heh. During REI’s Labor Day sale I was surfing the website and read so many rave reviews from people who had not actually put the products through their paces. “Can’t wait to try it out.” How in the world can you give something like a tent 5 stars without ever using it? Even using it once is us insufficient to gauge suitability.

Several years ago, I bought a pair of Xero sandals from REI at the start of a two-week bike tour. Loved them. Featherweight even for a size 13. Used them when I returned home. After maybe 2 months, one of the strap guides broke in half. Turned out, it was made of plastic, probably to keep the weight down. Only then did I write a review.

I won't order anything from Aliexpress after I had an order never show up. Aliexpress wouldn't refund my money. Their excuse was something like, we shipped it, so you should've got it. They had no record of where it went or even proof of it actually being shipped. It was impossible to talk to a real person. All complaints were done electronically in a very convoluted manner.

I put in a complaint through my credit card company and they got my money refunded. A conversation with my credit card company verified my suspicions that this happens all too often when using Aliexpress.
