GGP was fun yesterday. I like what they did with the dip of doom from last year. It was significantly easier to ride.

That ground looks...soft. Comfy, even. I want some of that.

Here are a couple of photos from this weekend's race near Nashville, TN. This was from the series finale of the "Cross The Way" series.

I'm the one in the red/white/black kit 2nd from right.

This is from my last race of the season a few weeks back.

Awesomely muddy race with a ridiculous "run" more like walk up. I ended up getting 12th out of a totally open field of 50-60, pretty happy with that result.

Total mud bog today in the Socal Cross finale. Water straw and clay make great bricks but a terrible racing surface. When he 4s went it was drying out a bit which made for the most horrifically sticky mud. Many snapped derailleurs, people had to run most of the entire course.
I ran three laps with just two small 50-70 yard sections that I could ride downhill. I needed different tires and a bike with loads more clearance for mud and even then I think it'd be hopeless. I finished though... three laps and lots of slogging/running.

I spent a lot of time clearing out the front and rear just to get the wheels rolling again. Even when I could ride my bike wouldn't move.

This pic is the mount of mud collected, not from the whole race, but from walking the bike 15 feet or so.

Later on the sky opened up ad the mud became much wetter, so the next group could actually ride and i was surprised just how little mud they were collecting. A little water changes everything!

More pics of the mudfest in SoCal.

This is what I looked like for about 45 minutes... running.

And this was when there was just "a little" mud on the bike, unlike later on.

Nice.

I showed my family a picutre like this of myself (#384 on this thread), and they mostly misinterpreted the expression. One of my nephews said something like, "Wow, my uncle is a b** a**!" I admitted to him I was actually doing all I could just not to throw up.

I was actually really pissed that by bike was malfunctioning. My rear shifting stopped working and just after this pick the cable slipped out of the RD. Totally my fault but frustrating none the less.
