These are NICE !

A little post-production to lighten up the face a bit? I love the grey sky background.

The best pictures are when you get in their face. (and maybe get your camera muddy as well )

Post production, yep, but I actually didn't have to lighten up the face by hand for this one. And you're absolutely right about the muddy camera. My lens hood had nothing to do with cutting glare that day - it was all about being a splash guard.

Nice shots! I read our man Popper's report on his blog, but kind of cool to see the pictures.

Ya, somnambulant and I both know about his hunt for a point so we spread the word and tried get a ton of people hollering for him as he tore around the course.

Speaking of, here's some ex-messengers & co. cheering for the next generation of fast bike rider:

This picture comes from yesterday's cross race in St. Louis. The stairs made their official debut. I took 8th in the "A" race. The course also included two sand pits. Best course ever for a STL cross race. I'm the first down the ramp.

About a month ago. Things just didn't work with ABD. Too far, mostly. A lot of the guys on Dogfish are really into cross, and that's my favorite part of bike racing. How have thinks been going for you?

Our own John Wilke snapped this of me attacking the stairs at Northbrook's "Save Ferris" Cross. Nasty course....even with no barriers.

He has a ton of shots at his site - Peloton-Pix.com

Those barriers are tiny! Are they all that height where you race?

Nope! The first set yesterday was half-height. The A's just bunnyhopped them. I was too scared to try.

I think I'm in that pack somewhere. Was this Men's C's?

I appears that people only take pictures of the first third of the pack and not the last third (where I was).
