14-30 6spd freewheels with shift gates?
I'm looking to replace the freewheel on my old Fuji America soon. It currently has an old Suntour 6 spd (not ultra spacing) 14-30. I really like this gear range, it works well with my triple crankset, but I'm having a hell of a time finding a replacement with the same gears. Most of what I can find is 14-28, and I really don't want to lose my low gear for climbing, as my granny gear chainring is a 36.
Anyone have any ideas for reasonable-priced components to replace this while meeting my needs?

i'd buy a new sunrace 14-28t freewheel off ebay.
but if that doesn't work for you, maybe you can find a used suntour one from bikeforums.
i have 14-28t ird freewheels on my keepers.

IRD sells 14-32 freewheels. If you have a Suntour rear derailleur that will almost certainly work for you.

Classica 5/6/7-Speed Freewheels
if the $60 (plus shipping?) scares you, you might try a sunrace one first.

BTW, don't even think about buying the older IRD Defiant freewheels which are on sale some places. They will fail. Stick to the new Classica freewheels.

I'm willing to pay a bit for quality components, and I checked out the IRD page today and saw some nice-looking cranksets too. I think they're going to be my solution when I end up replacing my drivetrain soonish. I'm thinking a compact double with 13-28 gearing.

Why don't you buy another Suntour? Within the past couple months I have bought two 14-30 6-speed FW's on Ebay quite cheaply. I much prefer an old Suntour in good condition to most of the new ones, even if the shifting is not as smooth as the ramped cogs. I also bought on Ebay a new Shimano 14-32 6-speed with ramped cogs, that's a slightly wider range than what you're looking for but it has a smooth gear progression (unlike their 14-34's).

A picture of the suspect might also provide the OP with more information and additional options.
