Yuck, both "Enhanced Interfaces" are not WYSIWIG at all. With the WYSIWIG interface, if I select text and specify a font, it doesn't actually change the font. It just wraps "TEXT" tags around the selected text. That's going to make it difficult to keep numbers lined up in that Commuting Mileage thread. In the CKEditor interface, there's not even an option to change text font.
So as it stands all the text editor interfaces are less functional than what we had before.

Not an expert but this code is in the page:
/*======================================================================*\
|| #################################################################### ||
|| # vBulletin 3.9.3.0 Patch Level 5
|| #################################################################### ||
\*======================================================================*/
/*======================================================================*\
|| #################################################################### ||
|| # vBulletin 3.9.3.0 Patch Level 5
|| #################################################################### ||
\*======================================================================*/
My best guess from searching.
Or actually like the followup to 3.8.9...not sure if it is supporting the latest versions of PHP or whatever, but now you all know it's not the vB 4.2.12 we ran June 20.
Can we go from there and give IB some time to tune us up?

Using the CKE editor option instead does allow the ctrl shortcuts to work. I prefer using shortcuts to having to take my hand off the keyboard to hit the buttons with the mouse, but that's just me. I do like the looks of the other text editor better though.

On my phone if I go to User CP and tap to show recent subscribed threads with new posts, it won't show anything but a link to show all subscribed threads.

How do I insert gifs? It used to be that they were just images.

Whew,
The website has been slower than molasses on ice lately. Slightly less memory intense than the other version, I think, but SSSLLLOOOWWW!!!
Oh, did we also lose the autosave/restore feature with the editing? I found it was quite handy for website hiccups and my tendency to start a message at one time then finish it later.

I'm going to ask a meta question, which (I apologize) may have already been asked and answered. Who drove this upgrade, and why does it seem have actually been a downgrade in many respects? Thx...

Some would probably question the switch, but this thread really isn't the place for that discussion- because all the griping about the switch is making it harder for the techs to find the legit bug reports and fix them.

The old system was vB 4.x.x, the 'new' system is vB 3.9.x. My understanding is it was done for spped, stability, and security.

But all the gripes are the same because there is no other source for information about the switch except this thread.
It may be that a global sticky would really help. So of course their jobs are harder.
BF mods, you guys have been rather quiet the whole time. IB owns this site but the usual staff has to run it. It's all gobbledegook to 99% of the members. I don't think most of them have ever been to this forum, much less been over this thread. They may not understand what I've repeated several times, that it isn't easy to switch to a new platform and get all the features and database going, it isn't quick.
The IB admins have tried to refrain from getting tied up for good reason but it's up to the staff to help us through and return to tranquility (well, whatever that is here).
You will have people out of the loop on this for a while because there will be waves of part-time users returning and there's no other place they can turn.
It's a big case of 'Are we here yet'?

I think that the 'as to why the switch?' was covered in the Global Announcement, but since it has been taken down, I have edited the OP to include that info.
tl;dr- the switch was done to enhance speed, stability, and security.

It's not a post, but rather "User Control Panel" > "Networking" > "Pictures & Albums" > "My Albums" > "Scooper's Albums"
Here's the page:
Then when I click on the album "My Bikes", here are the empty rectangles where there used to be six photos before the June 21st software load.

Kinda problematic if you had a thread that was in progress after nine years. It was nice though.

I figured out that when I see 'NOTIFICATIONS' (with a number) instead of 'PRIVATE MESSAGES' and click on the number, a drop down menu appears with the various types of notification choices and quantity of each. Thing is, it looks like if all of the notifications are the same type and click on the desired option, it will take you to another page to actually view them- but it also clears the 'Notification' queue and the 'NOTIFICATION' link is replaced with the 'PRIVATE MESSAGES' link.*

Since I just got an email notification not to long ago, maybe that will end up working for you. It still doesn't matter to me otherwise.
But the page did open from the link.

Still issues with some threads listing pages at the end that either aren't there, or are inaccessible. Seems to be more of a problem on the really huge, long threads with many thousands of posts and hundreds of pages.
The Commuter Bicycle Pics thread has 14,447 posts according to the post index. Going to the "Last Page" link takes you to page 577, and the last post listed is 14,413. It shows a page 578 (which there should be if 14,447 posts is correct), but clicking on it just takes you to the top of page 577. So is it missing 35 posts and a whole page? Or is the thread index post count incorrect?
