Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Aren't all bike lights cordless? Would be tough getting miles if you had to ride plugged in.

Night rider lumina 1100 is on Amazon for $80.

My mega bright bike light has cords. You only need one while riding though, from the lamp to the battery. I put the lamp on my helmet and battery in center jersey pocket.

I've tried small one-piece lights on my helmet and I didn't like it. Even fairly light 300 lumens ones were too heavy on my head before long, gotta have the battery located somewhere besides the helmet.

Learnt something new. Would have thought that lightweight battery tech would have made those obsolete.

These are probably significantly brighter and packing much more juice than you're assuming and you also need to consider the manner in which these are used. Folks that buy these kinds of light are more likely to be touring and/or doing ultra-distance events where swapping out a battery pack may be more convenient and more affordable than multiple integrated units.

Makes sense.

Back when I shot football for MaxPreps I used wired battery packs for my flashes instead of AAs. Cheaper and lasted longer.

You have one of those two-foot long lenses?

This is misleading--winter is 3x longer than summer.

Yes. I don't think it's political, though, to observe that too many people nowadays have access to too much information with no training or experience to correctly interpret it.
