Yea, I'm confused. Those aren't traditional clinchers? If you prefer clinchers, then you must think those are sew ups.

What are you confused about ? and what do you define as a traditional clincher ? No , I don't think these are sew ups - looks like you're in Colorado , why don't you call Excel and ask them to explain exactly what these tires are , they carry them .

I've been running Michelin Pro Race 3's & Specialized Turbo Pro Gripton's both 700x23C - saw these out on the Competitive website and got them on a whim - the side walls are a little heavier/stiffer as compared to the Michelin & Specialized but I think that's because they're marketed towards the racing group of cyclists - I mounted them with tubes and found them a little tougher on the mount & dismount probably because of the heavier sides - so they're not for everyone and so priced accordingly .

I see. Ok, so their sidewalls are different. Not what you wanted. Are they a real bear to mount? Or just slightly tougher than average.
