Various tire sizes in mud, snow.

Have any of you compare 2 inch, 2.15 or 2.35 inch tires in mud or snow?

A wider tire is going to be better for soft and loose stuff. There is a reason fat bikes exist and not just for looks, they are designed to sort of float over soft stuff like sand and snow. For mud you don't need a fat bike but a wider tire will help.

According to all of the Bubba trucks i see around, you need the biiggest, widest, tallest, etc tire that you can possibly stuff in the fender well(after the lift) that you can. In reality, I've read you want a wide tire to go over loose/sand/snow so it won't sink in. Muddy/swampy conditions you want the opposite. Something that will sink until it hits solid ground.
