Another bump. 48 hours till check in/registration/show.

The mosquitoes are vicious here in Idaho. Screen tent is the only safe haven..

We have discussed the mosquitos refently - an extended, cold, wet spring has pushed mosquito season into July. Who knew?? We decided that those camping at the school can be inside to avoid being eaten. Just don’t pound stakes into the carpet!
Whatever bug-repellant product you prefer, bring some!

Bad news bump: Was feeling better Monday after my crash Sunday. We listed home for sale 7/1, despite not quite ready, expecting no response over 4th weekend. But Monday got great offer from out of town buyers subject to walk thru Tuesday afternoon when they arrive. They liked home, we’re in escrow now but I had enough pain to skip dinner, go to ER to see if any broken bones. Took a few hours to find I have 7 cracked ribs. Good prognosis, none displaced, but some blood in fluid of lung, so been in trauma ward for observation. Discharge today. So no CINO and no cycling til Dr. says ok.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Don. Rest up and get well. I hope you'll be healed enough for your birthday ride.

I'm joining you in bowing out of Cino. I was probably the last person to register, got in just before online registration close, but my grandson came down with a fever yesterday and I woke up feeling ill this morning. So as much as I like sharing, I'm going to stay home and try to keep this one to myself.

So sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself, heal quickly, and good luck on the sale!

Ouch total bummer, sure you will be back on the bike soon.
Heal well and keep pedaling

Thor and I are on the way! We’ve passed by a bunch of volcanoes so far. For you volcano aficionados this one is Mount Shasta:

Heres my chauffeur, the mighty Thor, with Mount Hood fuzzily in the background:

Ouch! Hope you heal up well and quickly, and good luck with the home sale. Moving is always a PITA, so you'll want those ribs healed before too much heavy lifting.

ollo_ollo,

Hey Don, I am sorry to hear of your crash and injuries. I was looking forward to seeing you on the ride. I hope you heel up soon, and get vack on the bike. Also congratulations on the home sale.

We're spending the night in Libby, before making the last leg to Kalispell tomorrow.

Thomas thought he'd located the long lost sibling of Ecto One, here outside of Clark Fork..

The Kootenay River.

My first ever jalapeno pineapple margarita. Mighty tasty drink served at the Shed in Libby.

See you Cinoriders tomorrow.

No pics, but we're ready to roll out of Olympia early Friday.
3 bikes laid flat, 3 boys sitting upright.
Chris's Tesla will bring a motley crew.
A 70yr old on a 80's fixed gear,
a mid 50's teenager on his bmx he got at age 11,
and a youngster who builds bikes riding a real mtb of the designated period.
To each his own.
Weather sounds good for the 2 days of riding.
See you soon.

Oh hail!

I flew in last evening, @mountaindave was kind enough to pick me up. While driving to the school to drop off a few things it started to hail. Not that little itty-bitty hail common in the Pacific Northwest, we’re talking golf ball size hail!

Driving to his house it really started to come down hard. At some point we decided it was best to get cover for his car, it sounded like we were getting shelled the hail was so big it was denting the rooftop of the car! Just as we were pulling into a gas station, we heard an explosion. His rear window blew out!

Soon it was all over and we arrived at his house, pulled out a shop vac and cleaned up the mess. Big skies, big hail!

Or maybe there's no internet service in Hot Springs?

Those of us living vicariously through this thread demand pictures.

Day two. This is Chris. He rode the FMF BMX bike that his folks bought for him when he was ten years old. He kicked ass on that thing.
