Pure fix track series, aventon, or state co.?
Recently I had my bike stolen and I've been depressed ever since. Since getting into fixed gears over the past few months I've learned a lot more about bikes overall, yet still not enough to understand all the components and what's best. Recently I've been looking into getting either a pure fix track Series, state bike co., or aventon Mataro frame. I know there all pretty similar when it comes to materials. Any have any suggestions on witch frame would be best, or any other suggestions at all? I'm not trying to break the bank overall on the whole bike I plan to spend under 700$.

Depending on where you are, you may want to have some fun doing a CL/kijiji search along with any local shops that have trade/for sale boards. Sometimes you can find a score & that 700 will net you a ride you like but would have needed a G or more to get.

Your cog is slipping.
Find a local Aventon dealer and check out one of the new Mataro completes. Best bang for the buck out there for $499.

Another possibility is a Leader Cretin complete. A few more bucks than the Aventon Mataro complete, but it comes with a carbon fork instead of aluminum. The frame is good quality and doesn't suffer from the seat clamp problems of the 725.

You're thinking of the old Aventon "completes" that were pieced together by CityGrounds using 6KU parts.
The new Mataro complete comes with a carbon fork, a nicer 144bcd crankset than the Cretin and a very nice 28h Novatec sealed-bearing wheelset.

Recently I've been looking into getting pure fix track complete from mr bikes Mr. Bikes - Pure Fix Keirin Pro Fixed Gear Complete Bike Build By Mr. Bikes the price is right, I'm just not sure how good the components are. They also have a few aventon's, but again I don't know how good the components are. The CG Mataro complete seems alright.

That bike is junk. Aluminum fork, Quando hubs, probably very heavy. Avoid brands with "fix" in the name.

You know that @Scrodzilla owns Retro-gression, right? He sells them at his store in San Diego but I haven't seen them up on his site. You should probably do what he asks and find an Aventon dealer. Where are you located?
Because Retrogression can't realistically keep every size & color in stock at all times and we can get product from Aventon in one day, the new Mataro, Mataro Low and Cordoba completes will be up on our site as soon as their warehouse has stock levels to keep up with our online sales.

I'd definitely go with the Aventon. They seem to be finally stepping their game up and since they wheel/crankset it comes with isn't garbage anymore, I'd even buy one.
Wouldn't this be it?

Build your own bike unless you're a fixie tourist who will give up on this hobby in a few weeks. You will get the most out of the experience this way. I like Pake's. Double butted chromo, clean tig welds, durable and strong, nice blend of aggressive/comfortable geo. Anything else is vanity.

Hey Scrod don't these Aventon have similar seatpost slippage issues as the Leaders? Perhaps not as bad as cracking seat tubes but the internets is saying they slip. With oversized seat tubes much larger than the seatposts they are securing it makes sense that there could be problems. Why don't they just design these like the Cinelli Mash histograms or what not with seat tubes at a normal size?

I don't design bikes for Aventon, so I have no way of answering this. Ask them.
