Norcal Races?
I'm from North Carolina, where we have the Gears and Guitars race in Winston Salem. I'm stoked about it, but I might miss it to be in the Bay instead. Can anyone point me to similar race weekends around here? I found Sand City Crit and Pescadero Coastal RR, but the reg fees are ridiculous (I mean, 2.5x the price). BTW, I am currently Cat 2 (and not on a team, lol). So I want to be able to race something in the Bay that's a big weekend, but I have no idea what the popular races are. (And are all races around here this expensive?) Thanks!

I'm not a racer, the only one I know of locally is the race that goes around the Three Bears loop (Orinda area). That's held in May, so it's another year until it comes around again. You can try the racing forum here, I think there are at least a couple of posters who are in the area and I'm sure they can be of much more help.

Giro di San Francisco is a good one, but it's not until Labor Day. Also I think it's the District Championship race this year.

Coming in late here, but this info may be helpful after the fact.
Pescadero is one of the best road races in NorCal. This winter Stage Road washed out and has not been repaired. The only way the promoting club Alto Velo was able to put on the race was by using Highway 1 at great expense. That made it much more expensive than normal.

IDK if this is in your wheelhouse [sorry] but Sacramento has the Land Park Criterium every March. Here's the page for this year's edition.
