Tires for 80s restoration
What’s some good looking modern clincher gum-wall options for 80s restoration. Just finished a 1984 Nobilette and need to put some gumwalls on it. Have NOS Michelin Hi-Lite 23s which look good, but riding them…not sure. Currently have Conti black wall Ultra Race which are OK but I think gumwall is better look for ‘84. (Cables are behind the bars now.

The Vittoria graphene tubular or clincher tires (Comes in tan or black wall) are one of the best performing tires you can buy for the money.
My experience with the tub version had been exemplary. Definitely a very fast tire. Most likely a characteristic brought on by the graphene construction.

As noted above, Vittoria Corsa are very nice, and come in 23mm. See picture below.
I also like Conti Grand Prix 5000, but the smallest those come is 25mm (so depends upon size you need). In the pic below the Conti’s are dirty from last rain…

I like the Panaracer Pasela with Tourguard. They look good won't break the bank and ride well

I've been happy with the Veloflex Corsa EVO (formerly Veloflex Master). It's a very well made tire and very supple. For better or worse, this also means a thin tread. It's not going to wear as well as others, but the ride is excellent!
I've got them on a couple of bikes, such as my Raleigh International...

I like these Clement Strada LGG 32's on my 73 Atala. Got them on the Bay. See them from time to time. Great for Cino if ever ride it again. Don

For a 1980’s bike with performance clinchers, Specialized Turbo’s. They still do make a cotton casing foldable clincher that has good performance and inoffensive labeling.

if one needs puncture protection, Bianchigirll has the answer.
the placement of the pads I think indicate a 26mm tire should not have problems, I cannot comment on the chainstay internal width.
