Evoke build--need some input.
Happy holidays.
I am purchasing the Evoke frame thru B.D.
Here is my Campy build plans for know.
Veloce shifters
Veloce FD
Centaur RD
Centaur UT Crankset
Centaur cassette/chain
What do you guys think. I was telling a buddy (who owns a small bike shop) my plans to use the Veloce/Centaur stuff and he said those components are an insult to the frame, they're to low end ,and I wouldnt be happy with the performance compared to Ultegra. I always thought Centaur was equal to Ultegra and Veloce fell somewhere in-between 105 and Ultegra. I've never used Campy, so I don't really know how well these components perform.
Thanks for the input.

They perform very well. Don't listen to your friend, if you want to build it up with campy then just do it. The campy stuff is great and perfectly fine - not sure why you wouldn't go with the full Centaur group since the cost is fairly negligible for shifters and FD between the two groups (only $55 on PBK). Just my thoughts though, but I say do it if you want to - it's not an insult to the frame.

Interesting frame choice though.

I believe I will order a set of Centaur shifters and a Centaur Fd. The Veloce stuff was to be used on a Cinelli build anyway.
The Convert, what do ya mean?
Interesting frame choice though.

Ultegra's everywhere, anyway, if you want to argue it that way.
