How many dents do you see?

Looking at this bike listed online. 1950's vintage. This is a picture of the top tube. Seller was surprised I asked about dents in top tube as if he wasnt aware if any. I am seeing mulitple small dents? But what do you see?

I think the question should instead be 'How much straight, non-dented tube do you see?'

Maybe the seller is "hammered" just like the frame.

That would have to be something pretty special to warrant fixing that TT, very special.

Those aren't dents. It's a surface treatment to improve wet weather adhesion like Rigida used to apply to their steel rims. 1950s? Maybe this is where Rigida got the idea.

I'd need to either see the frame in person, or get a high quality, slow moving video that sweeps the top tube before agreeing to purchase. I see what LOOKS to be two small, shallow creases and several other places where there are either small dents, or visual irregularities that may be dents - hence the need for further information.

I look at the fork and think it has issues. Is the fork bent? Does the fork have enough thread for a headset?

Those are dimples like on a golf ball to improve the aerodynamics, people pay BIG money for that........ Just make sure he includes the wind tunnel test results with it.
