Lowriders

I think it’s bs that low rider bikes have no representation on a bike forum

Look in the touring forum. Lots of us use low riders for our front panniers.

That may be true but I can’t think of any reasons to leave out an entire category. Where the people involved are some of the most passionate people about their craft. I hope a moderator agrees and starts a new category and sticks it right below beach cruisers where it belongs.

If you are talking about a type of bike, post a picture. Not all of us know lowriders as anything but a pannier rack. (I recall vaguely lowriders being something like stingrays but that was never my thing and I have no idea what they might look like.)

I think that because you hadn't posted a picture of a lowrider bike, they may be pulling your leg a little bit. But, here is a pic of a lowrider bike.

peoples ignorance is not fault. Mind you I consider there to be a large difference from ignorance and stupidity.

sorry sir you are incorrect that is not a low rider bike that’s what a low rider owner would call a stretch chopper bike.

I think the lack of knowledge and experience of lowriders from “senior members” is evidence enough that this forum might have fun with an official low rider category.

Have you considered asking about creating a low rider forum in the forum suggestions forum? That seems like the right place.

This is what comes into my Low Rider mind.

¿Are expensive low riders really worth it?

This is a forum. People post what they are interested in. I'll leave you to reach your own conclusions about why there is no lowrider content here. There certainly could be lowriders here, but maybe nobody has posted about them

My house has no doggy door. My dog only roams where he has access. I'll leave you to reach your own conclusions about why there is no dog in here.

You have posted 186 times and none of those times have been about lowriders except in this thread complaining about how nobody is posting about lowriders.

When a few members asked the site runners to consider adding a hybrid subforum, the number of people who argued against the idea was surprising. But the hybrid proponents persisted, and they were eventually given the subforum.

Perhaps you could start another thread and add a poll. A for/against poll for the proposed hybrid forum resulted in a majority of votes in favor.

Here is a Wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowrider_bicycle

FWIW, my first bicycle was a Schwinn Sting-Ray. I guess I should have hung on to it.

I'm not sure why a subforum like this (alt bike culture) isn't acceptable.

alt bikes is where this subject belongs. It barely gets any traffic anyway, so subdividing it doesn't seem like a good idea

California bicycle culture. Low riders are attitude bikes mostly to be seen and not ridden.
Some are perfectly functional. Gold plated twisted bars, frames, all kinds of whatever bling you can make/find/steal.

Not my taste but Schweinhund is correct. We rent a place every summer on Mission Beech Boardwalk and you can see a dozen or two a day although the younger set with electric scate boards and one wheelers seem to be cutting into their numbers.
