Ever seen one of these on the bike path during your morning commute?

Follow a triathlon where I wasn't as happy with my improvement as I wanted to be, and with gas prices on the rise, I decided to get more riding mileage by commuting on nice days. They're doing some roadwork along part of the ride to work, and as I come around a turn I find myself behind this guy:

What was funny is that he's just rolling along at about 2 miles an hour when I see him pull over to let cyclists coming the other direction go around him. He doesn't have proper rear view mirrors, so he doesn't see me. I wound up just lifting the bike over the guard rail and doing the rest of the ride on the street. Even with the construction, car commuters were courteous this morning.

Not during my commute, but it's not uncommon to see construction vehicles on trails. Saturday, for instance, there was a set of construction vehicles on the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail. Last summer and in 2009 I saw trucks working on the Great Allegheny Passage at Ohiopyle.

Actually, yes. Quite a bit of construction around town these days, including on the MUP, where they are going to add a couple of new pedestrian/bicycle bridges over the river.

I didn't actually see it, but I saw the tracks left on the path.
