Purple Ciocc first ride!
Finished up my Ciocc build. I got this frame last spring from a fellow who had it out in Honolulu for many years, and the original paint was degraded by the salt air and surf. Fortunately he was very diligent at keeping the inside of the tubes sufficiently rust proofed with frame saver so it was not a lost cause. I think this was originally a "World77" model, but not exactly sure of the heritage here, but it does have the "ten speed drive imports" logo on the rear brake bridge, so I am guessing early 80s?
I decided, what the heck why not go for a radical color change, and sent it to my painter for a shade of metallic purple. Note the Rastafarian decals as well. It's mostly Campy NR, came in at about 21 1/2 lbs, and is a really sweet ride!
As found....Tons of corrosion...
In the paint booth... I decided why not purple?
First ride today!
It's a beautiful fall day in Colorado, colors changing...

The rear brake cable housing does not appear seated in the brake lever body, every once in a while they need to be opened up a bit to seat properly.
front looks good.
Paint looks very good. ‘Metallic purple’ can be a win or loss, this is a win.

That’s beautiful. I keep thinking I need to repaint one of my MAX bikes in a deep purple like that on the rear triangle head tube and may fork and the rest Celeste.
