Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

fizik saddle

I have had an arione now for about 10,000 miles.. until recently it was fairly comfy; now everytime i'm on it i get numbness.. i think it's worn out(no it's not my position, that's stayed the same)

I'm using this mainly for racing, and only weigh ~140lbs.

wondering if anyone has experience with the aliante?? I also have heard specialized has a new thin light saddle out..

Check to see if your saddle is level or however you initially set it up.

Are you wearing the same shorts now that you were before? I have an Arione and can't ride on it with my Pearl bibs, but do fine with my Castelli's. Chamois shape and bulkiness is significant for me on that saddle.

Yeah, my Arione went "flat" after about 10,000 mi too. Fortunately, I got a brand new one for x-mas! The Aliente, although more gooey, will last about the same. My brother has one that went out at about 10,000 miles before he replaced it.

Switched to Aliante and it works for me. Just got too many hot spots with the Arione and the little ribs wore a hole in my shorts. Can not comment on how long it lasts yet.

You raced 10,000 miles? Awesome. Most plastic saddles will lose something after a year of hard use.

I don't know about "going flat", but the leather on my Arione started to peel off after about 15,000 miles. I replaced it with another Arione. Still very happy with this model.
