I'll admit to it! I'm so used to the more modern 8mm allen bolts that I've removed the dust cap of the older style and threaded the crank puller on over the 14mm bolt. Not in this case, though I did double-check on the NDS after that one wouldn't budge either! Just an old, stuck, crappy aluminum low end crank.

Anybody ever tried using a pickle fork to remove cranks? Might ding up the bottom bracket but in an emergency?

I've heard of it working, but it seems like you'd probably run the risk of damaging the frame/bb
