Thought about riding the TT bike which has been in the garage for the last 2 years. Pumped up the tires. Front tire blew up at 100 psi, too much work to fix so I took the roadie out instead.

LOL@ tapering, its like 7-8 weeks of fatigue suddenly caught up with me... Struggle to stay awake last two days off the bike. Is it almost lunch? Think I willl take a nap.

Pulled a muscle in my back doing weights, so I'm back on the bike again for good now. Kinda took my off-season early, as August and early September I hardly spent any time on the bike, so I'm going to try to build a solid base for the late winter/early spring races starting now.
Did the HOP Medium in Danville on Saturday, rode out from Fremont, got chewed up and spit out by the strong men at the front, then got poured on real hard. We were going to ride back for another 30 miles to round out the day, but it was raining and cold so we hitched a ride with a teammate. Still, a pretty good workout. Racked up ~240 TSS, at what I suspect is too high an FTP setting for my current level of fitness, so probably more like ~270 realistically. I'd like to start doing the HOP more often, I think it'll help me prepare for road racing. Going to branch out from crits next year.
Took Sunday off, commuting to and from work for the next few days because the car's in the shop. Planning on starting the 2x20's and SST rides again later this week. Not looking forward to seeing my 20 minute power, still feeling weak.
Still struggling with getting the weight down. I was down to 146 after food poisoning, but being on my ass so much the past few weeks has me back up to 150 again. Everything tastes so damn good v_v

I'm a huge fan of the HOP rides - it's the group ride I do most often. Great practice for picking wheels, working on group riding skills, pacelining down N Livermore, when to conserve, when to dig deep etc. The medium ride is a great pace for 4's RR's. I do need to do more of the HOP regular next year - invariably get my ass handed to me between the Highland rollers and N Livermore.

A little over 5 hours on the MTB yesterday. Trails were great as is has been raining up in the mountains. Got a little cold and wet but was a great ride. Feeling a little beat up today though.

Making a kilometer blurry
ZCI™s again today. 3.3W/kg average. Hurt like hell, went well though, and glad to see some small gains. Starting to get out of Cat 5 on the e-wang chart

A bun cake. well 2 half pieces of a bun cake. one half chocolate, one half blueberry coffee cake. It was delicious!
also i rode my bike today. 2x4 minutes at 6.0x w/kg in the middle just cuz i had to get up two hills to get home. i like the off season, I can just roll around and do the occasional effort.
