Interbike 2010

Rollcall, Discussion, Posts, Pictures....you name it. Wanted to make 1 Interbike thread for discerning readers.

Obviously I am going. Mrs. P is going too. ZeCannon I saw got his press credentials. I assume CDR is going again.....Who else? What are you hoping to do there? what are you looking forward to the most and what should I - as a first time attendee - not miss?

i'm flyin in to vegas thursday night, for the weekend. i can probably come up with a pass for friday (still have a little juice in vegas), but even if i dont show on friday, i'll be riding the informal (free) mt charleston hill climb on that saturday, thats being organized by some folks who were bummed that the offical USAC MtC HC race got cancelled.

you guys should come out and ride it with us if youre still in town.

Arriving Monday night, Tues-Fri show. Sorry badhat I'll miss that hillclimb. Because, you know, hillclimbs are where I'm at

Schedule I basically have no idea what I'll be doing since someone else is telling me what to do, sort of.

Exceptions: I will be doing the Tues AM Mead ride. The Tweetup. Oh. Just checked. Tues 6 pm. May not be able to get to it. Maybe.

I will have my bike, no aero wheels planned.

It would be nice to have a BF picture or drinks or something. Faces to names kind of thing.

I will be there. A few meetings, and some lookin around. Being a fit studio, I don't carry a ton of product so that is not my focus. Got some out of towners coming in for fits, and lots of friends that I have not seen for a while. Can't wait.

hey youre a local!

i grew up in GV and still get back to town a couple of times a year to hang out with family and ride a little.

so whats the local buzz on the MtC Hill Climb cancellation?

that seems like a really dramatic step for a state championship and a nationally famous route. did they drop the ball in promoting it or is the scene there in trouble?

Flying straight from a mtb race in Durango on Sunday night and staying through Friday evening. Dirt demo to start then a few days of show floor. Going to be busy as all hell getting content out the whole week.

If you do see me, say hi! I'll be the only guy in his early 20's in a VN shirt.

Odd deal. 24 yrs it has been going on too. It is not a state championship. For some reason they were touting it as that. The state champs for climbing Cali/Nv is Everest Challenge in Mammoth/Bishop.

I think there were a few reasons. Too expensive for an 1:30 race (55.00), and not enough people signing up early. I think there will be a lot of races going this way due to economy etc. Unfortunate.

On a good note, one of the best up and coming amateur stage races on the West Coast is happening in Feb; the Callville Bay Classic. Good stuff.

Not this year. The closest I will get is my name card in the PILLAR* booth. Stop by if you want to see it.

I will go for 2011.

My priority is always Taipei show - for manufacturers - (which is convenient for me) and then it was Eurobike for suppliers but now I will be Interbike for customers.

*Anyone interested in sourcing Pillar products into North America should go here. I will be doing this for them for their smaller customers - that means for customers other than factories. Eric Chen will have details.

Went to IMTS today (THE Machine tool show - Machine shop version of the Detroit Auto Show). Got my convention face on.

Girls dancing on top of displays at random times when theme music comes on. Million dollar displays. Crazy genius in the back corner trying to market his new gimmick. Ahh....can't wait until it's about something I care about.

Remove most of the girls, take a zero off the display cost, and you have Interbike. Keep the crazy genius in the corner.

I was wondering if anyone has heard if the crit races will be at Mandalay Bay again this year? I cant find any info on it. For those coming from out of town the cyclocross races at desert breeze park are on wed. night and are always fun to watch.

Last minute rush getting wheels out before losing a week of building time. Unlike the majority of those going - I am not going in order to be entertained....I am trying to pin down some future offerings/sources of revenue that can finally help support this thing I call a business.....*sigh*

Man, that sounds like a blast compared to the shows I use to attend. I was a medical device rep for a long time. Talk about terrible shows. Tons of recent college grads talking about insulin pumps. Yeah.

I am riding by the Dirt Demo tomorrow morning on my bike with my wife from the house, then I will be at the show for 3 days straight. Wed for work, Thurs with friends, and Friday bike shopping.

We should talk - just saw your sig and one of the concepts I am playing around with is a fitting studio along with a training center.
