Like yesterday, 11 miles this afternoon. Mid-30's, dry with some sun off and on.

Did 42 miles today. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to. The wind was killing me. At one point on some flats, I was struggling just to maintain 12~13 mph in a low gear. I was considering baling(Is that the right word/spelling or is it bailing?) at the 21 mile mark, but pushed on. I have 2 centuries coming up in 7 & 10 weeks and I need to get in the miles. When stretching at the end, I could really feel it in my legs. I hope I'm ready for those 100 mile rides April 20 and May 11.

Got out for 40 miles this weekend, mostly to ride a new project bike and work out any bugs. I mixed some road with the Burke Gillman trail, and got caught in a pretty good dumping of rain yesterday.

Did about 15 miles on Friday and 8 or 9 yesterday after a light workout with weights.

Today my wife and I played in a Bridge tournament so no riding.
Best regards

Rode about 60 miles on Saturday up Highway 39. I had big plans of riding all the way up to Dawson Saddle (~8000 feet) and back up GMR ... maybe even Baldy Village. That would have been 100+ miles and 10,000+ feet.

Not happenin'. My carpool parnter broke a spoke then fell down and hurt his hip. On the way back to the car, I dropped a chain and ripped off the chainguard. Then, for good measure, got hit on the noggin by a bike we were trying to put up on the car. Oy.

Still fun. What a beautiful day (taken by Stefan):

Sorta OT 395 but I enjoyed your Eastern Sierra Pics via the link. Brings back memories. One of the two roads, it's either Cottonwood Lakes or Whitney Portal. Is paved all the way, up to 8 or 9,000 feet elevation. Have you ever ridden those ? That would be an epic climb. And descent. FWIW we walked up Shepard's pass with full packs and out via Trail Crest/Mt Whitney. The East up the Shep is absolutley brutal, no water for like days. Can you say Anvil Camp ??

Gotta update that website! Some of those pix are 4 years old, and I've some much better ones to offer.

Most of my cycling in the Sierra has been Bishop-northwards, so I haven't done the Cottonwood/Whitney climbs yet. One of these days, though. And when I do, I'll reward myself with something from the Lone Pine Cafe.

Kudos for getting up Shepherd's Pass. Backpacking is tough ... kicks my arse every time ... and that trail is brutal!

Snow, rain, more snow, when will it stop?!! Oh well, a little messy this morning, 2 cars off the road so I felt kind of privileged to be on two wheels and just gliding along into the office at my usual average 10mph.

We got back the Florida weather that I know and love and today's ride was back to my normal 35 miles at the wilderness MUP. Weather wise, everything looks good for a perfect week of riding.

OMG is that a PX10 ?

Nice project

I rode for the second and third times in about 10 or 11 years and it looks like I'll be starting back from scratch. Lots of spinning, freewheeling and limping along back home, lol. I was careful not to overdo since I'm 62 but I feel good enough the day after to ride again each time. Probably 25 miles or so and I feel up to doubling it if it doesn't snow on us one more time.

Good for you on getting back into it. Keep it up!

It's a PR 10, one notch down from a PX 10(only 3 tubes 531, versus all tubes 531 on PX). I still have a couple issues with it, so I opted for a different ride today.

I got out for a short 20 miles, but it felt like spring today. I can't wait to turn the clock forward.

Beautiful day here at the Jersey Shore. Did a quick 13 1/2 mile ride along the Toms River and Barnegat Bay. It doesn't look good for the next several days!

Wind again but not as bad as Sunday. The wind still dropped my speed but I pushed on and did 42 miles.

20 miles today, home to Tophet Marsh (Hartwell Ave, Lexington). I'm sure you all know where that is. No pics.

26 miles today with about 10 other oldies. 55F when we started, so pretty cool for FL. Warmed up quickly to 72 by ride's end. Nice! The guy who suffered sudden cardiac arrest only two months ago, followed by gall bladder removal 3 weeks ago took us on in a sprint!

Between doctor's appointments and having the bike worked on, I didn't get a chance to ride. Tomorrow looks like a great day, weather wise, for a good morning ride.

Oh I will alright. I don't want to have to rebuild this old motor all over any more after this.

Well I hope you get the issues ironed out. It reminds me of my old Italvega.

20 mph headwind this morning will make for a nice tail wind tonight going home. 34degF and just a few flurries around. Some black ice but it remained dry for most of the day yesterday so it was fairly pleasant going today. I took a different route that I avoided until now because of a very busy and dangerous intersection and I mastered it in style. I was overthinking this one and its not that bad after all. I may use this route more often as it eliminates a long climb.

Killer, non-stop winds made for a very rough 35 mile ride today. I was going to quit at the halfway point but decided that I wasn't going to let the winds get the best of me. I have 100K charity ride scheduled for this Saturday and it might be a windy one, so today was practice for half of Saturday's ride.

Oh boy, when the weather forecast at 7am states the temp is going down for the next couple of hours and the feels like is 10 to 15 degrees less than the actual.... well you all know the drill. We waited until the pm for a short 15 mile ride on the Withlacoochee with the wind still around 18 mph with gusts to 30 or so. However, by then the sun was out and getting strong enough for us to ride in shorts. Even the natives were out enjoying the sun.

Did 56 miles this afternoon in the low 50s--started with 23 mph sustained winds with 32 mph gusts and ended the ride with 18mph sustained winds and 26mph gusts. Needless to say, there were a lot of tough sections for pedaling.

A good day for a 35 mile MUP ride. Great temps, blue skies and some windy spots along the way. Tomorrow may be a neighborhood ride as I have a 100K ride on Saturday.

Put in 30 miles on the local bike paths Thursday afternoon. Temps in the mid 60s and wind from the south at 20-28mph.
