Did 13 mi early morning before spin class. (I think the warmup ride helped with the spinning.) After class, it was raining so I drove to my other gym for a few exercises and rode the bikes there for another 10 mi. The rain hasn't let up all day.

Rode about 35 miles this morning on my trike. It was overcast (had my lights charged) and cold, but warmed up a tad. Only averaged 15 mph though, but it was a fun ride.

This was Saturday, but I did a very nice ride from Culpeper, VA out to the base of Old Rag Mountain just outside of Shenandoah NP, over a steep hill into Syria, and back. 60 miles, and pleasant weather. I was planning to do more, but chickened out.

It's funny, I've done over 30 century rides this last year, but now when I get up over about 50 miles I panic, and can't imagine how I would ever be able to go that far...

66 miles today. Last metric century of the year making it the 10th ride this year between 62 and 70 miles. Some bad sinus problems early in the ride almost shortened the ride to one lap around the park.

Counting the hours until my Dr. appointment's at 9am tomorrow. Looking for the all clear to get back on the bike after 4 weeks off. Tires pumped - check, rack on the car - check, bikes on the rack - check, helmet in car - check, still need to convince the wife as I won't be able to drive for another few weeks.

Did 60 mi today, only 20 of which were outdoors. It was cold and drizzly here in the morning so I went to the gym and did 20 mi. Then in the afternoon, when it cleared up, I did 20 outside. In the evening, went to the gym for a spin class, then did 10 mi on the bikes after spin.
Lots of exercise today but I have to justify all the stuff I've been eating lately- and still have planned to eat... In fact, I did the spin class tonight on a full stomach- not the best idea.

Glad to know there are others that feel the same. If I haven't done a century in a while I always wonder (and have some "fear") that I might just not be able to complete one.

I hope your legs cooperated better on your ride this time.

I had the option to ride or play golf and chose golf! I used my 3 wheeled cart and got in a nice walking round. We had 1 1/2" of rain on Sunday so the course was pretty wet. I don't understand how I can ride a bike for 100 miles but walking 18 holes gets me pretty tired and ready for a nap!!

Last ride of the year was a nice, but very windy, 31 mile recovery ride. Everything gets reset tomorrow.

Did 20 mi around town and it took about all day to do it between waiting for it to warm up, stopping by the house to defrost my fingers, trying different layer combinations, taking a hot shower, and making adjustments on the bike. There was a lot of traffic out there, too, an accident, and cops giving tickets already.

Easy 15 mile pedal with one of my sons. 50 degrees or so at the start, 60 or so when we finished 1 hour later.

Well I did it! The doc gave me the clearance yesterday making me promise NOT to fall. So after a 4 mile walk before the appointment my wife and I did a short 15 mile ride on local rail trail. What a joy to be back on the bike after 4 weeks off. We had the best year ever even loosing the 4 weeks, 8,279 miles. Not bad for a 64 year old with CHF and an EF of 20%.Of course most of that was done on the flats of FL. Looking forward to getting back to our regular 30 miles. However, the weather for the next few days appears less than stellar. Now the next milestone…… driving in 2 to 4 more weeks. Happy New Year to all!

Finished out 13 with 18....was supposed to be 30, but a lingering bug got the better of me even though the legs were willing. Finished out 13 a tad short of my 12,000 goal......oh well we'll get em in 14...lol

Not a good way to start off the new year. It's been raining since early this morning and hasn't stopped. Temps in the low 60's and rain means staying indoors today.
