I'm not aware of a brake law in the bay area.

I am not aware of a brake law either, but it is not my place of residence.

Those cranks are like 190mm.
I walked out of class and saw that bike and I had to take a picture...the platforms are so huge that it seems like if he tilted his feet he could just tip-toe the bike on the pedals.

The brake law is in all of California (and most other states). Mucky just has his (her?) brake like that because he rides in Davis, where the two bike-cops are notoriously nasty (one of them bee-lined for me as I was trackstanding in a parking lot with a friend. He turned around when I turned my wheel toward him and he saw my brake). Supposedly one girl got 4 tickets at once for running 2 stop-signs while eating a piece of pizza (no hands on the handlebars) on a brake-less bike.

Seriously, I get worried about pedal strike with 165mm cranks.

Why? I roll with 165mm cranks, pedal strike only happens when I take a corner way, way too sharply.

Which I did the other week, ate complete ****.

I ride 165s as well and have only pedal struck once.

Cage scrape was more or less an every-ride occurrence when I had 700x25 tires though. Never went down, but my tigers are missing a decent bit of material in the toe because of it. Couple times riding home tipsy I scraped my toe going through turns no-hands. Can only imagine how much **** i'd have eaten if it had been full-on pedal strike.

Benefit of riding toe-down: youll scrape the cage before the pedal hits, and you wont eat ****.

Since I switched to cross tires on the fixed I haven't had an issue.

man i literally laughed out loud when i read that. one of my buddies drank a few cans of 4loko about a month ago and woke up with a stab wound he couldn't explain.

If i had a camera, i'd have more pictures of jackass bikes than i could count. And just last year there were like 6 people who rode fixed here. I thought the brakeless no foot rentention thing was only a myth until i was next to some guy at a stop light riding one of those urban outfitters ***'s.

That seat does seem a bit bulky for the frame.

Risers are obviously the best choice though.

from the same guy:

if you want to look at every picture he has haha https://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b287/Matt7117 also he seems to either just like pictures of bikes or has lots of money because some of the bikes in there are quite nice.

Before I confirm or deny my hitting of this, I have to ask,

Was it Woodstocks Pizza, or Village Bakery? or god forbid, even Uncle Vito's...
