Jaguar bikes.

Around 4 years ago I had a Jaguar bike that was made in West Germany. It had a weird bottom bracket, Simplex shifting, and Altenburgur plastic brake levers. It looked exactly like the one in this picture. Does anyone else have a similar bike?

not possible to tell a great deal from the image provided...

Jaguar marque is a product of Panther Fahrradwerke A-G

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panther_Fahrradwerke

there is also a second and unrelated Jaguar marque produced in Germany, that of Standard-Jaguar -

I remember those. They had plate style seat and chainstay bridges. The bottom bracket looked like it employed one on the conversion spindles to allow a frame intended for a one piece crank to be outfitted with a three piece, cottered crankset.

Those bottom brackets are very common on cheap, German bikes.
I had this Sprinter bike for a short time that had that bottom bracket.

shell on blue Sprinter machine appears perfectly compatible with conventional three-piece assembly

chainset is a Thompson type cottered as seen here -

unused BSC threads are likely present in the shell

This one was at our local co-op for a long while, and I've encountered others over the years.
