2011 Cinelli MASH Prototype

This ******** is sex

"Our goal is to offer two separate Cinelli geometries for 2011. The current street geomerty, and an even more agressive track. The more agressive frame will offer some special details, and sit at a slightly higher price point for that design. 2011, and no sooner. This is the downside to instant internet information. It makes waiting, feel even longer… We are incredibly happy with the current production model, and want to offer something to a different customer with this additional adjustment."

Meh, plain to me, and (typically for aluminum) ugly welds.

All emotions aside. Strictly business:

So is this the 3rd or 4th MASH frame? Each with different geometries. Why so many so often? That's a lot of changing compared to other track frame manufacturers.

Who is the different customer? The only customer that comes to mind is a track racer. That's a TOUGH market to get into when competing against Fuji (Track Comp, Pro), Bianchi (Concept), Trek (T1), Felt (TK2, 3), LOOK (464), Cinelli (Vigorelli), Cervelo (T3), etc.. in the sub-$1000 track (racing) frame market.

If they have a market for them, then more power to them. Make that money. But, I literally have never seen one (of any generation) in person in the streets or on a track. But, I guess somebody is buying them.

Pretty big price difference between the two I think.

I for one have been lusting after one these after starting to ride aluminum. I much prefer the green version though.

How can you make an assessment of the welds based on one picture?

That frame is disgusting. It'd make me seriously consider riding Italian.

Nice, was wondering when Scrod would jump in on this topic--even if it is via an unrelated thread

I'm excited about the DIY bench they have at that shop in the first pic.

That's pretty cool that a shop would do that.

Im about to pull the trigger on a grey mash myself, i prefer to the green, also worth noting this off their blog

"EDIT: Also want to clairify that this is just a raw sample frame, and we stickered it for filming. This will not be a production color for 2011."

Who knows what paint job they're going to give it or who the artist is that's going to be in charge of it..

Ha I looked at the first 2 pictures and thought I was going crazy because the first picture shows a frame with steep angles while the second shows what appears to be the exact same frame with lax angles. Total mind****, then I saw that they are offering the same frame with different geo's.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, they clearly switched out bikes for different pictures and used the exact same set up and pedal position in order to confuse people. Pft... lens distortion, let me guess, you think 9/11 was an inside job too?
