The Super Record BB with the titanium axle was much like C-Record; thick aluminum cups with pressed-in steel races and ground for 3/16" balls rather than 1/4" balls. Those BBs didn't have the best reputation (especially after Laurent Fignon broke one during a race), so you'll most often find Super Record cranks mounted on Nuovo Record BBs.

It really isn't that confusing. With a pair of calipers all is told in a few seconds. You can tell visually what bearing a spindle uses and only alloy cups used 3/16" and thus only C-record and super record (thanks John above for that).

True, if you have a copy of Sutherlands or the other article I linked to, and have the spindle in hand. In my case, the thin cup spindle came with a thick cup BB from ebay. If they had done something more than marking 68-SS on everything, I could have easily determined that it was mismatched. Back when I bought this, I had not read as much as I have now, and let it sit in my parts bin for a year before trying it, and discovering the problem.

Looking for a nicely cared for and gently used Sugino triple crank (46/36/26 or thereabouts) to fit square taper BB. I think the BCD's on these are usually 130/74 BCD.

I have a growing pile of stuff that may or may not meet your needs. If you have a nice triple crank like this, please send me your wishlist.

I've got a set of 27" 36 hole Mavic GP4 Rims (purple label), light brake wear but not worn through the anodization layer yet.
Love to trade for a set of older 700c Mavic Clinchers (MA40, MA2..) or other french rims like Wolber Super Champion Rigida in the same size.

I'm also looking for a french-theaded bottom bracket in usable condition for a rider, if it happens to be french-made even better.

I also have for trade: Simplex Super LJ FD (clamp on type, looks like a double)
Shimano 500 FD Clamp on
assorted Older/inexpensive Shimano SIS 6-speed stuff
A too-tall for me blue Panasonic Sport Deluxe frameset/headset bottom bracket (have the rest of it too but its scattered about...) Can measure on request.

I am building up a 1975 Peugeot mixte, and want to use French parts. The bike came with a junky Shimano ISI rear derailleur, and the correct front one. I also have another set from a 1978 (?) PUG, but the front derailleur is cracked on the plastic piece. SO, I have a mis-matched set, and would like a matching one. I would like to trade either way - I send you my older FD, and you send me your newer FD, or vice-versa - I send you my newer RD, and you send me your older FD. Photos below.

ISO: A matching Simplex RD or a FD.
Have: 1975 FD, and 1978 RD. I also have a Shimano 600 Arabesque that's missing a top bolt that I would trade for either.

1975 Simplex Front Derailleur

1978 Simplex Derailleur

Shimano 600 Arabesque Rear Derailleur

Matching, But Cracked 1978 Front Derailleur

A "70 SS" would be a 70mm (Italian) double (or triple with a "X3"). You will also see a "120" on older BB axles, this means that the SS double chainring rating for the axle is for 120mm dropouts, not that the axle is 120mm long. Yes it's very complicated; this will give you some idea about all the markings and axle measurments https://www.minortriad.com/campagbb.html. There are other tables match up particular cranksets with the correct axles and cups (Sutherland's is the most mentioned by it is still copyrighted so I can't post it). Then as cyclotoine all you need to do is measure the A,B,C,D measurements with a caliper and you will know what axle and cups you need for your particular applications..

ISO: Shimano or Suntour down tube clamp on shifters (friction is fine), and Maface Racer brake, I have one, need a mate.

Have: Biopace triple crank, Shimano Deore XT RD/FD that show definite use (off MTB), PM me, might have other stuff just can't remember right now.
