Landis Hearing: Weird
OK, I know Landis stuff is contentious so I'm just going to state the facts of a weird occurrence.
1. A French interpreter, chosen by USADA for their French chemists, misinterpreted a number of statements by the chemist
2. One of the arbitrators (who can speak French) had to correct the interpreter
3. Landis' lawyer finally asked for a change in intrepreter and the arbitrator agreed, so they recessed for over an hour and found one who had no chance for preparation

Where again are the online hearing summaries? I'd like to follow them but can't remember where... Don't have time (or bandwidth here at work) to watch the videos.

I check cyclingnews, velonews, eurosport, and, gasp.., cnnsi for sh*ts and giggles to see what, if any, they are covering on the Landis hearing. Surprisingly cnnsi has a good article on day 2.
"U.S. Anti-Doping Agency lawyer Dan Dunn asked Mongongu if she had worked on the "A" and "B" samples taken after Stage 17 of the 2006 Tour. The Landis camp had cited rules that prohibit the same lab employees from working on different samples as a reason to possibly nullify the positive test.
"I didn't perform the analysis of the 'B' sample, but I helped verify the results," said Mongongu, who also said she didn't know she was testing Landis' urine. "

Interesting testimony by the french chemist:
1. The machine has broken down, by her recollection, only about 10 times over the last number of years, yet she can't remember when the last time she had to call to get it fixed (she couldn't even narrow it down to the YEAR)
2. She tested 400 samples and has testified that she didn't know that sample 95474 was Landis' until a few weeks ago, yet she testified that she remembers THAT urine sample and exactly what she did with it and the MINUTE (11:25) she handed it over to the other chemist (Despite the fact that she did exactly the same thing with 400 others).

Taking testimony with an interpreter can be difficult and frustrating. I hate it when you ask a complex question, get a long answer from the witness, then the interpreter and witness converse, and the interpreter says his answer is "no"

Are the test results were available before the sample is transferred?
If the answer to both is yes, then I would remember it very clearly, as well, and would take detailed mental/written notes about what I was doing.
