Busy bike-finding, bike-trading day
After yesterday's good luck at Goodwill with the Technium, today followed up nicely.
First, it was a 1986 Gerciotti (Record?) that a local large fellow came into the shop wanting to trade for a mountainbike that he could actually ride. The bike was in primo shape, all 74xx-equipped, and I was given the call to bring something down to help the guy out. He was recovering from quadruple bypass surgery, so I brought down one of my nicest Trek mtb's from the early-1990's, thinking that the wide gearing and heavy construction (for 300# rider) would be a good, reliable choice.
Needless to say, I was astonished to see the bike that I was able to negotiate in trade!
So then it was off across town, again using bike-only transportation, to continue my pursuit of one Centurion Semi-Pro with 1975 component datings that I've been wanting to trade for. I threw down an offer-in-trade that I equated to $400+ sales value, and so also scored the Centurion that I so dearly wanted. So clean, so original!
When it rains, it pours.

Thanks for the compliments! I do go to a lot of work getting such good bikes into my hands, but these last three (including the Technium) somehow came out of short work I would say.
No way I could ride that Guerch much further than I did today (back home), but it has a small-flange, C-Record/G40 wheelset that I could think of a couple of bikes it would do good by. So must find a suitable good set of wheels for it, and a silver seatpost as well.
Other than that I'll have to part with it as is to fund my up-coming, serious chrome Huffy build (most serious ever).

I've got a good set of arrayas w 105 hubs and an Easton dura-ace 27.2 stem that I don't have much use for at the moment. Let me know if you want to work a deal.

I only just noticed that the bike's levers are 105, which are actually lighter than their Dura-Ace equivalent.

Kind of odd that the da stuff is heavier than 105, but a lot of times with the shimano stuff it seems like the only difference is the finish.

And a 105 RD would out last a DA too.
Great looing bikes. What do they intend to do with the Guerciotti?
