Definitely post that ^^^^^ here - https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...s-cameras.html . Mrs & I actually carried a Photomic on our 3-week Ireland bike tour in 1985.

For awhile I carried a small, thin Olympus waterproof Tough Cam. I misplaced the charger a couple of years ago and haven't carried it since then. But it was much handier than any phone camera. Phones have terrible ergonomics and infuriating lag time. The Olympus, and most good compact digicams, have much better ergonomics and are more responsive overall. This particular model recorded jpeg only, which didn't bother me for a snapshot camera. If I wanted to edit photos in Lightroom or other software I'd consider a higher end waterproof/shockproof camera with raw capability.

I also have a very good Fuji XA with WiFi so I can transfer photos to or through my phone, so it's feasible for quickly sharing photos. But it's very plasticky and I don't trust it for cycling as a pocket camera. I have carried it in a handlebar bag on some casual group rides.

I'd need extra mounts for the Balcars.

I have a sports action cam that mounts on my handlebars; it takes videos. Easy to remove from the mount to point at whatever you want. Easy to extract a snapshot from the video when you plug it into your computer. Resolution isn't great but good enough for BF and blog posts, and I get a lot of shots that I wouldn't have had an opportunity to get with something that wasn't always on.

And you may catch an accident or close-call that would help somebody:

Crazy side note that's sort of on topic. I did carry this a few times on an old mountain bike to get back into where some fox dens were. Talk about just not practical, LOL!
