Folding Bike Pedals are Flexy

My folding bike has folding pedals, and they are too flexible for me. Sometimes I like to stand up and pedal, and I'm worried they will snap in half.

Has anyone replaced their folding pedals with stiffer ones?

Maybe I can replace the outer pedal with a normal metal pedal, since it wouldn't interfere with the fold? Or if I replace both with non collapsible pedals, I'll have to make sure that the pedals are rotated just right before folding the bike.

Thanks!

Yes. I recommend Wellgo C-17. Four years, three tours and two different bikes later, still going strong.

MKS makes folding and quick release models.
Most people seem to like them.

dittos...Both the Wellgo QRD pedals and the MKS are excellent recommendations and definite upgrades. I have both, of course they are removable and not foldable, but are stiff, and high quality which will last much longer. Post back with what you end up deciding.

I find the Brompton folding pedal quite solid under foot, pedaling..
Right one non folding.. seems same feel.

These are the Wellgo F265 Folding Pedal - strong, no flex, inexpensive, well built, and long lasting. So far I have them on 3 of my folders,...

I have the MKS quick release pedals and they work great. No flex at all - they feel identical to 'normal' pedals.

Because I use my Brompton to commute to work and on business travel, I switched to these folding pedals to avoid scuffing my shoes:

https://www.internet-bikes.com/en/11...nch-black-set/

They feel solid (I'm about 235lbs), fold easily, don't slip, and have held up under serious climbing etc.

Downside? 515 grams for the pair.

step away from the folding pedal

I have tried pretty much all the folding pedals that get recomemded on these forums. This included the folding recomendations on this thread. I have only had 2 makes of folding peddled last any time.
brompton, small platform and too far away from crank.
Diblasi. Plastic but durable flexi peddel. Everything else has failed with in a year. Not every time.
Most serious folding bike users use detachable for preformance or standard pedals.
