FS: 1985 Trek 620 Touring Bike 25.5”
SOLD!
So I bought my first ever Trek recently, a 24” 1984 520. Fell in love and also fell into a Trek tourer rabbit hole. Anyhow, I also picked up this 25.5” 620 recently and was REALLY hoping to make the fit work, I’m 6’1" with a bit longer torso than legs and the standover is just too dang tall for me.
The paint is just okay, with scrapes, scratches, and touch ups here and there, but nothing too dramatic. Inside tubes are completely rust free, like surprisingly super clean. I’m guessing previous owner treated it with rust proof or something. I also gave it a fresh coat of T9 while having it broken down. There are two of the mildest dings topside of the downtube, near the bottom bracket. They're pretty hard to see so I added a couple arrows in the pics. Again, super mild dings there. The frame is straight otherwise.
25.5” Frame / Reynolds 531CS / 1/29/1985 Production Date
63.5 Seat Tube
58.5 Top Tube
47.0 Chain Stays
91cm / 35.8" Standover (Top of Cable Guides) with 27” x 1 1/4 tires, same with 700c x 38 tires
- 3 Water Bottle Mounts
- Pump Peg
- Front & Rear Rack Mounts
- Chain Hanger
- Shift Lever Boses
Mostly factory spec'd components, with a few period correct changes (Sugino AT Crankset, Shimano Deerhead Derailleurs and the SR Touring Pedals). Also has a new Velo Orange sealed bearing Bottom Bracket. And at some point the wheelset must have been updated as it has a 7 speed Helicomatic cluster in the rear, 5 speed being factory spec, and the front hub is Shimano, possibly early 600? The wheels spin smooth and tru, but have not been serviced as I figured there's a 50/50 chance the new owner would do a wheel swap and/or convert to 700c. The bars are currently just wrapped with an old inner tube. Bartape is such a personal preference thing, I didn't wanna be wasteful and have it chucked by the new owner

That sounds like a great deal. If only I weren't trying to find a way to explain why I "need" the 2 frames I have in the queue to build up already.
