Ok here's the proof of what I took: the front mini fender, the kirtland seat pack, and Campy sleeveless jersey(I'm not going to model it, sorry). My apologies to everyone whom I may have upset by taking so long to post this-I just recently started a new job and have been a little busy. I added some good freewheels and a German made kickstand to the mix.

ACH57, no fuss. We know that folks have lives.... I like that you've managed to get all the stuff into one simple picture on ONE bike! How'd you do that?

I think the real issue is that the Box of Crap excites people so much that we all want instant gratification and instant box openings and mailings with many pictures. I think everyone is cool with the process and you aren't a problem at all.

As "moderator" of the thread, I just want everyone to play nice and by the rules - which are spelled out for all to see. I'm far away from that instant-gratification thing

The other main issue I am concerned about is keeping a running tab as to the box's location; that's important - and in the rules, too.

I know we all have busy lives - I am in that category, too! - however, I don't think it's beyond anyone here to log on, report when the box is received or sent and then a photo or two within a week.

That said, ACH57: thanks for your pics of your parts haul, especially as they're mounted on the bike

Is that map still in the box - and if so, are people still tracking the box on it?

What was the determination on stuff with missing bits? I have a SunTour front derailleur which I bought off eBay, then realized too late that it was missing one of those fiddly little bits necessary to properly cable it up. Other than that, it seems fine to me. It's never going to get used sitting in my spare parts box. So is this thing box-o-crap worthy or not?

I think the determination was no borked stuff - but parts with missing "fiddly bits", as you put it, are okay; someone might have spare "fiddly bits" and would be able to turn your derailleur into a user.

I say toss it in

Anyone?

^I agree. I just pulled an old Suntour VX out of the recycle bin for the pulleys. Suntour pulleys are nice to have since they can replace Simplex ones, etc. The RD itself is useless since a major casting is broken but there are lots of good 'bits' on it that can come in handy, if not for me, then for someone else. The definition of 'crap' is relative and it's just a game afterall. Play in good spirit and all will be well.

Hairnet's photos of the box/picks are one page back

I'd just send the map separately, but I think it should go inside the box to be on the safe side in future.

Thanks for the shipping update, Hairnet!

I ended up keeping the stencil because the box wasn't closing very well.

If you got them ready for it, they're BOC worthy.

It looks like someone threw away most if not all of the stuff I put in. I know the Campy Victory shifters were snagged but the Look pedals haven't surfaced nor the several derailleurs.

They were in there when I had it -- they're easy to pack at the bottom though. Nobody'd be foolish enough to toss those Looks. :-) I actually pulled out several derailleurs -- there's a pic a couple of pages back. They're on their way to the local coop, to make room for more "crap" in the box.
