Heard it before I saw it—white SUV rolling over headed my direction yesterday, about a block away. It eventually halted, upright, after a couple rotations and blowing out the windows, deploying a dozen or so airbags. The other car had t-boned the SUV, I figure after the latter blew past a "YIELD" into the intersection. It came to rest atop a pair of light rail tracks. Front wheels had collapsed and it was stuck; meanwhile the crossing arms dropped and fortunately, the train stopped well back from the wreck.
Bystanders extracted the SUV folks and sat them on the curb to await help. Car's passengers seemed fine and were collecting their things lest a train finish the job.
With police, fire, transit at the scene I slinked home, looking double at every intersection. No idea when they restored train service; this was a little after five, so....
p.s. A rolling-over vehicle sounds nothing like the sound effects folks' version.

Springtime in Seattle! Thanks for the memories. Lived on 51st SW near top of Jacobson hill in 60's/70's. Returning to the NW in mid-April.

Yeesh. Might check out the mtn lion attack thread on the mtn biking forum for "how not to look like a deer" tips. (Maybe there are none, in which case, leave the antler helmet at home.)

Guess begin with an oversized version of a typical plastic rollaround trash bin, then set it tumbling. No clanging metal, no tinking glass—a series of dull thuds.

I am about 3 blocks from there. My usual route is down Avalon to Alki, around the point and back up Jacobsen or Atlas. Was out today the pollen count is way up

It was a great neighborhood to raise a family. The large, older homes(ours was built in 1903 and pre-dated much of the neighborhood), were very affordable and livable.

First I though the cloud formation was cool, then I noticed the frozen giant lurking in the haze.

Bat House
It is good to have some bats around when there are lots of misquito's. Sometimes it is alo good to make sure that they have a good place to live.
This is Hempstead Lake State Park in NY. The bathouse was made and installed by a local Boy Scout troop.
I gently leaned my bike against the post. I didn't want to disturb anyone's sleep.

I was out riding with some friends today and we passed this guy riding a well loved Cannondale tourer.
Slowed down to talk with him and compliment his "Jackelope" style aerobar extensions.
Asking if he'd mind if I took a photo, he obliged by stopping and demonstrating it for us.
Was pretty proud of his handiwork:-)

You can't make this stuff up. Berkeley hills, April 20, 2024 - spotted on my ride today. It was in front of a house with other goodies with signs that said "Free" and "Cool Stuff." That last one might a be a bit of a stretch, although it has some harvestable parts.
