Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speedplay X1's. I had knee pain with everything else i tried. Speedplays are built in USA and the company has great product support. Switched my 2 cross bikes to speedpay frogs too.

I use Forte/performance brand SPD's on all my bikes.

I had tried Shimano, Ritchey, and Forte SPDs, and believe it or not, in my experience, the Forte's are the smoothest and most precise of them all.

Has anyone ridden the new LOOK Keo 2 Max pedals?

I know someone posted a thread with a review of them the other day, but I'd like to read some more user feedback. The review said they still have cleat squeak sometimes. I've had the happen with the regular Keos, but it either goes away or can be fixed with a little wax rub.

Keo Sprints on my three road bikes. Like them a lot.

Older Shimanos mtn. pedals on my commuter. M545s or something. Like the ease of entry and the double sided-ness, but prefer the Keos for real road riding.

I ride Keywin pedals (from New Zealand) and have for years. Big platform. Very light weight.

I went from the R 540s to Look Keo 2 Max Carbon. They spin more freely and the wider platform is noticeable. I didn't have any hot spots on yesterdays ride but I did hear some squeaking. I was thinking it was my BB but reading the post above makes me think it might be the cleats. Will have to look into that.
