Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

He must not have been at the airport while I was there.

Wise words. At least after 2.5 hrs on the trainer I can still remember what my feet feel like.

2 hours it is. If you work it like you did today, that'll be very good. Save some for the VO2.

It's also a relatively stable subset of participants, who often share much of their lives as with regulars at a bar. This crew (love y'all) talked me through my lengthy dating issues... and now I'm married and been with AG for a decade. And moved from Boulder to Austin and back. And went from short running and tri to long, to cycling, to crashing, and back to running. And work. And f'rexample TMonk of course just had a baby. Others have kids growing up and moving out and going to college and on and on. And with some cycling (SWITD) in and out, the stability is nice.

Of course there's also banter about football and cars and knives and woodworking (and bikes) and a million other things.

I used to train at O-**** thirty in the dark and cold, but I was running: so much easier.

No cars, my bontrager circuit helmet has a light mount, plus I had a head light on my stem. Visibility is good.

Wait, is "dark" sensed here? Or maybe very distantly typo'd to "dank"?

Dark means dark, as in absence of light, but it was dank too, at times.

Define. I can think of at least one who isn't stable. He has an obsession with Twitter and bears.

You are fighting back after "the event" which is admirable. Keep us/me informed on your progress. Do you think you can get back to pre event numbers? It would be awesome if you could.

It's getting less dank by the day. Thank heavens we're on the other side of December 21st.
