Getting lost; seeing "condition 6" is there a convention? on a scale of 1-6? 1-10? 1-100? Which is highest, which is lowest? Link to official conventions?

I have a project with alloy Simplex 47T/50T which seems a bit "short" and have not yet thought about whether to replace or not, based on tooth count or condition...

I think that steel cranks would be more stiff than aluminum. Whether I bite depends on whether Wifey green lights this.
