How much does the stock fork from the Komodo cost?

Read the reviews. If I were you, I'd ride the fork until it breaks then upgrade.(google is kind to all)

Oh come on. I need to know the actual msrp, and I am supposed to be doing homework. If I am caught doing something other than homework, my parents will take my computer away and wont let me get the Komodo.

Thats why I always screw around on forums at school. Besides, if you have time to be on here, you can google stuff.

Yah...I use the "don't you know how to use google" line a lot too, but in this case, I would rather get that line than have my computer taken away, along with my hopes of getting the Komodo.

That's a cheap-ish OEM fork, and one that is kinda' tough to say what one would cost on it's own. Probably not more than $150, if that much. You're not going to get much for it if you want to sell it off the Komodo, or get trade in value from a shop in exchange for a nicer fork.

I am trying to see if I can replace the stock fork for a DJ1 and pay the difference . If they say no, I will just have to go for the DJ1 '08 anyway

I'm still not convinced that you have found a Komodo that will fit you.

First of all, ask your LBS if they'll even do that. They'll probably have trouble selling the Suntour separately, so I'd be very surprised if they were willing to buy it back from you, which means you'll have to pay for the DJ anyway. In my experience, shops will only do the swapping parts and giving you credit thing if the part they're taking off your bike has value to them (i.e. they can sell it), which makes sense. What are they going to do with a bunch of crappy parts that no one wants? That stock fork is worth what you can get for it on eBay. Also, you're going to need a wheel that fits the dropouts, so make sure there's room in your budget for that.
And why can you screw around on here, but aren't allowed to Google prices? Go do your homework, and maybe someday you'll be able to get a job with enough pay that you can afford the bike parts you want.

I have good grades and such already. My parents are psyco. And I am going to be an underwater welder, which make a nice amount of money for whatever the hell I want.

I'm just trying to help you make the most informed decision. Clearly you know everything, though, so I'll take my services elsewhere.
