Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I won a CO2 inflator and cartridge at a bike shop last year. It is way heavier than my mini-pump. I've seen too many people use up their CO2 and get stranded to ever trust them.

Co 2 cartridges. I used them when I started riding. 2-3 tries at blowing up your tire and you are SOOL. I recall rides with up to three flats. Sometimes, I don't get the flat repaired the first attempt.
I have been there. No thanks. I trust my Topeak Morph. With gauge and all. Only a couple of ounces. Body made of aluminum. How could it be a problem. I fact my Morph is one of my favorite accessories. never go without it.

Sucker, my Technium only cost me $25. Where are you guys finding all of these chicks with flats? I seldom see chicks where I ride, much less ones in need of help. I have come across several mulletteers with flats on their pickups though. I carry a frame pump also. The $25 Raleigh doesn't justify CO2.

If I flat twice in one ride I take that as a sign from above to get the hell off the road before a meteor hits me. I'm hitching at that point regardless. I used to let my old roommate ride one of my bikes and we'd go riding. He was an average guy but he didn't have the strength to pump the tires much past 90psi.

My morph acts as a portable floor pump. A great pump. Like taking your home pump along with you. Who could not pump up a floor pump.
Heck, in some high construcion areas, I've lived in. We'd get maybe a couple car flats each week.

CO2 is just so much easier than a pump.

I keep my pump with me at all times, but I'll only use the pump if I'm out of CO2 for some reason.

I still carry a pump. I don't care to go with CO2 cartridges because:

a) I really don't care all that much about weight since I still ride steel and I am not out to race
b) I don't want to have replace cartridges. I'd probably forget and leave myself stranded. Besides, I don't want to have to spend the money all the time.
c) I don't want to create any more garbage than I do already
