Anyone see the Vuelta frame at Nashbar?

I can't find a geometry chart anywhere and of course Nashbar's tech support had nothing. For chromoly (stated in description), the price isn't bad.

Here's a link:

https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Catalog...m=vuelta+frame

If that's really the rear spacing and it takes a 26.8 seatpost, I wouldn't want it.

they may be measuring on outsides. Or over-locknut on some Vuelta hub.

Anyway, it'll clamp down.

1.25mm on each side isn't really going to make a difference. Is it? I'm pretty sure I road my 130mm conversion on a 120 hub for quite a while with zero problems.

I thought they put that extra millimeter or so in the rear spacing for some spring for the hub to tighten on. My guess is that everyone else would call that a straight 120mm.

Measure your bike's spacing and see if it is exactly 120. Mine measures 121. I don't think this is a defect. I would rather tighten down the bolts than have to squeeze the hub in.

Seems like a decent deal for cheap build/beater.The rear spacing is not that big a deal and the 26.8 seat post hasn't stopped anyone from buying a kilo,so no problem there either.
Edit: Seatpost included,so there you go

My 10speed has a 126mm drop out :| using a 130mm hub works fine

Does anyone know anything about this frame? How does it compare to lets say Surly steamroller or Pake?

But for $75 you might as well just buy it and let us all know.

It's stupid that it has an oddball rear spacing (probably no big deal) and a weird seat post diameter (at least the post is included), but my guess is that it's heavy (no indicating of butted tubing) and is a "you get what you pay for" type frame.

it's so you can fit the rear wheel in there. a lot of bikes are made like that. between two sizes.

I think it might be on par with the Pake since its straight 4130. Im sure the welds wont be pretty, but its a 75 dollar frame/fork. Probably on par with cheap SE's and Scattante's and Hounders.

It actually looks just like a Pake, especially the dropouts. I wonder if there was a weird batch of Pake frames that Nashbar picked up on the cheap.

edit: just realized it doesn't have an integrated seatpost collar. Who knows...

no...vuelta is not a nashbar brand.

due to unfortunate circumstances i have been actively shopping cheap...er...economically priced bikes/frames lately & seriously considered this frame. btw...w/nashbar's current 20% off 1 item deal it is only $60 thru today.

anyway...

here is a vuelta frame built-up by a guy who really knows how to build a bike & even has a couple 3renshos. he never said a word about having any problems with rear spacing...

not according to this...

https://forums.roadbikereview.com/fix...ig-264164.html

maybe the version they are shipping now is different than the pic in their ad? after all, it is nashbar (which is a big reason i couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger)
