PSA: Selle Italia Turbos on sale

Unfortunately not in white for the WTB in the sales thread, but pretty good price on the nubuck black and brown at Excel Sports for those looking for the right saddle for an 80's build:
https://www.excelsports.com/selle-it...dle?sku=707093

*Sorry, should be "Turbos" not "Turbo's".

Ouch! If they had smooth leather white I would be beside myself!
Still, a great price for "nubuck" in boring earthtones...

I agree with unworthy1. I was hovering over the buy button but just couldn't go through with it because of the chewy nubuck texture.
Even so, THANK YOU for posting this deal, 67Carlton!

unworthy1-

Buy the Nubuck, ride it for a while until the nap starts to flatten, add Brooks Proofide or similar waxy leather treatment and buff. Repeat. You then have a smooth, semi-gloss to gloss surface finish that looks like worn in leather.

panzerwagon-

Doesn't the shag make it hard to find the dropped ball bearings?

That assumes I go looking for them. <makes off-color joke about... something>

Somewhere in that garage, I think I still have the nubuck brush I bought in the early 90s for my suede Mundialita— "recommended saddle care" advice from Bicycle Barn in Houston...
Don’t think I tried it much at all before ripping up the saddle sides in a few crashes.

Edit: said garage shag carpet is figurative at best, a state of mind at worst.
