These will be my first tubular rims that needs retire, a double stick tape is recalled in the name of foolproof.
I do notice the last pic with dent and paint, but I don't know from what probably is.

Yes, I see too, but I'm out of my depth, picture and bicycle wise.

A ladies version is up for sale, I'll try to post it for comparison, flabbergasted I was to see it.

Be sure to take it apart and reference repack the bearings.
Be sure to obtain a proper wrench for the headset. (the Campagnolo tool is not good enough for the Super Record headset top nut)

Its just the lug cutout with black paint infill that is out of focus as @noobinsf pointed out.

Very nice Supercorsa! A couple things...

Pretty sure the dent the OP is referring to is a very slight impression on the NDS chainstay to the left of the bridge, close to the lug socket. No paint loss, so a bit difficult to see. Don't see it as an issue, and it wouldn't bother me at all - particularly given its location!

Think I see Cinelli panto on the chainring in addition to that on the stem. Also, looks to be a second-generation nutted Campy TI spindle BB. Also also, the gear cable guides brazed beneath the shell, graphics, etc suggest this is later than 1978; I'd bet it's closer to 1981/82. While it still sports the older style top tube cable guides, and lacks the fork crown engraving, it has newer features as well. However, it's still a beautifully preserved example - even the Almarc leather bar covering is perfect. I hope you ride the snot out of it

I think DD is correct that it's slightly later than '78. But does the serial number tell anybody anything (or just randomness)?
Only thing I'd watch out for is that stem but wow: panto'd huh? Too bad that didn't happen on a 1A, 1E or XA...

Thanks for all the advice and information about the bicycle. The headset appears to be an alloy version of chrome plated steel, or maybe TI, sill delicate compared to steel.
I have a Park PCS-4-1 stand to hold the bicycle without damaging it, and to keep it form falling over.

And Park BB tools, along with the usual pullers and special tools, and good quality general tools.
I don't have the shop set of cone wrenches from Park or Pedro, yet, or the CB adjustable wrench, which I didn't know of the precision ground jaws.

I'm getting older and will proceed with caution, if much at all beyond careful cleaning and nullifying any corrosion with something mild like CorrosionX.
And I have other bicycles to ride and maintain, which aren't unusual, or collectable.

Riding on the road with cars has me taken-aback with illusions, but I'm no athlete, so I can only fantasize about what I've seen on video.
It won't matter too much what I ride slowly, is what I assume.

Yes, I looked puzzled at the last pic, with paint puddled in the print, and a slight dent.
Thanks for the seasoned opinion, I discounted the dent off the cuff and bid ahead to win on instinct, and with a small measure of deductive reasoning.

Not a bad tool, but only engages two opposing flats. the Stein tool engages many more flats and corners, I think the way to go with aluminum top nuts.
The headset is Super Record, aluminum architecture.

True enough but you can screw those two flats down to almost zero tolerance and keep it there while you break it loose then loosen it to minimize the marring.

It has taken several SR top nuts off with almost no added damage.

The one thing I feel is just as critical is to hold the fork securely, I usually have the wheel in and straddle it with jeans on so it is steady.

Its a common mistake not to do so in which case it moves and something slips when you have to lean in.

This applies to many things and Stien makes a tool for that also.

my tool box was stolen from the trunk of my car years ago, and so was that Stein tool.
I inquired this week on availability.
out of stock but perhaps a month from now- I was advised I would be told when available again.

spreading the load over 8 points just is that much more insurance.

there was a gal looking to sell a repainted Cinelli with a 50th group for crazy money, one looked at the images and the headset was mangled, both top nut and race...
when one is asking the big dollars... attention should be paid.
of course the same seller was selling a Teledyne with the bottom bracket still in, only as they admitted they did not have the correct tools!
