Campy locknut headset washer question

Campy locknut headset washer question
I have a C-Record headset but I am missing the locknut washer. Do I need a specific locknut washer or will any vintage Campy one work?

If you mean the slotted ~2mm washer, any will do. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve used a headset or two without the lock washer when I was low on stack height.

Honestly, it's not needed and I find it's better not to use a keyed washer, just a regular washer. The keyed washer may make it easier to torque down the locknut, but it's not worth the chance of buggering the threads on the fork. Just use a regular washer and use two wrenches to get the cup and the locknut tight against each other.

A C Record headset in the least needs an unscarred, polished aluminum spacer in the perfect height for the steerer.

The keyed washer may make it easier to torque down the locknut, but it's not worth the chance of buggering the threads on the fork. Just use a regular washer and use two wrenches to get the cup and the locknut tight against each other.
