Who still carries a bike pump?
I've been using CO2 for a long time. That pump weight was keeping me from the big shoe contract.

Last time I carried a pump, I ripped the valve right out of the tube after I finished the arduous task of pumping it up. I'm sticking to CO2...even I can't screw up with a Proflate.

Heh... the guy on the brand new $1,200 Trek was sure grateful when I stopped on my $50 Raleigh Technium and let him use my patch kit and pump. He'd been walking for over an hour and still had 10 miles to go.
I've been lookin' at the CO2, but I'm just too cheap (ok... broke, actually) to keep buying cartridges. I made the $40 investment when I could afford it and have my Road Morph. I'm happy!

On my mountain bike, I carried a pump. I got a small pump for my road bike - and used it once, then bought CO2. I carry 2 or 3 cartridges now, so I still could help wayward women with their problem tires... but the only people I've ever seen walking with flats are men. I still help them anyway.

I carry a pump and my CO2.
I'll use the pump to givew the tire it's "shape" the use the CO2 to getthe tire to pressure.
On my commute, you do not want to be stranded, EVER.

I carry a pump
I only stopped carrying my Zefal frame pump because I wanted 2 water bottles (I didn't wanna carry the Zefal under the top-tube), and I bought a couple of different size frames, which meant I needed a different size for each bike.
I have a generic mini pump which I've seen sold under 4 different brands. I top up at home with my Silca, so I only use the mini pump when I have a flat.

During the HH100 last week I passed three guys on the side of the road. Apparently, one had flatted and they had used all their Co2 and were motioning that they needed a pump. Somebody ahead of me turned around to help them.
The thought of running out of Co2, especially on long rides in the country with no support, keeps me from going the Co2 route. There are a lot heavier components on my bike than my pump (me, for instance).

I just started carrying a frame pump. I figured I'd put it on there and seldom use it. I've used it at least almost once a week since I've gotten it. Couple of times was to top off tires where we screwed up putting in the CO2.

I went to CO2 last year figuring I'd carry my pump and the cartridges until I was 100% comfortable with CO2. I've practiced with the cartridges and feel pretty proficient but am still afraid to dump the pump. Last month I went through a bunch of thorns and got 2 flats. I changed the tubes and filled them with my 2 cartridges so I was good to go with 15 miles left before the house. As luck would have it, I picked up another thorn 7 miles from home. I had a patch kit but was lazy so I just stopped 3 times to use the pump. I think if I ever go pumpless I'll carry 3 cartridges.
My pump is a Topeak Pocket Rocket. It's OK but I can never get the tire over 100 psi. I'm guessing 85-90 tops.
