Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I hear ya! LOL...he knows little to nothing about bikes from what I gather. And even worse....he moves in slow motion. That place gets Craaaaazzzy busy in the summer. No way he can keep up with the pace of things there. We'll see though.

Find out first if he is not the owner's father (or some such thing), before you start letting jokes fly.

Wait a minute ... you are in St. Louis, MO and you were working for Miller brewing? What were you a spy trying to get the latest low carb beer formula from Anheiser-Busch?

Actually I am from KC (or at least grew up there...). I worked for Miller there. Not only that, I am not a fan of any anheiser products except for some of their specialty brews.

My father has owned a shop for 30 years... I worked for him while I was in high school. It was the best job I ever had.... (not pay-wise). But enjoy it and ASK questions for the other mechanics... read the forums like this one, ride daily... and be passionate about it. Eight years after high school I decided to go back into the bike business. There's nothin like it! My day typically consists of a bike commute in the morning, coffee, fix a bike, B.S. with the customers for 2 hours, fix another bike, B.S. and sell things to another customer, break a bike and try and fix it, look through QBP and dream, clock out and bike home. It's the life I chose to lead... my wife chose to make the money.

Well it sounds like you are living my dream life. I plan to get my masters in ex phys just because I like it, but I plan to run a bike shop as a career just because I love this damn sport!

The owner is like 60 years old, and this guy is in his 60's I would say (or perhaps late 50's....he hasn't weathered very well)....
