Slime inner tubes, are they really more durable?

So I recently picked up an older Specialized Hard Rock (free, believe or not) in any event, only insignificant item was a flat front tire. Does anyone use the Slime brand "extra strong" self sealing tube? Has anyone found them to actually be more durable than your standard $4.00 inner tube? Are they worth the added cost? Im aware the topic of other brands has been covered at length.

I really hate slime in tubes as it only seals very small pinholes temporarily IME and are a real PITA to patch as you have to make sure none of the slime gets on the patching area. As for the Slime tubes it's the same thing and they are no more durable than any tube of the same weight (same thickness of the tube wall). Almost all your puncture resistance comes from the tire so spend your money there.

I’ve used slime tubes in the past, and they will seal small punctures. But the tubes are HEAVY.
On one bike I’m running tubeless sealant in the tubes and that’s been working out for me.

I slime my MTB tubes. I use the bottle not the inner tubes. Also have liners in all my bikes. I never get flats
