the Rapha Festive 500km starts this Christmas Eve. Weather is looking good for Socal after this weekend. Anyone else going to take a crack at finishing the challenge?

My usual loop is just under 30 miles with 1,100 ft. climbing, with an occasional ride of around 35 miles, so I can feasibly get up to 40 miles with better route planning. But doing so every day for 8 days straight would be beyond me even if I am left behind Home Alone for the holidays.

Indeed it is. I’ve done it twice. The first year, my gf had no idea of the time commitment and was royally PO’ed when I didn’t show up until mid afternoon to help with Xmas Eve cooking.

And you live to talk about it.
Your gf must be very generous and kind.

I've got 120 Miles to go, 40 miles at 3 days. I did 56 miles on the trainer 3 days ago, and it looks like 40 miles on the trainer today. Stupid rain. Fortunately my wife and I do not care about Christmas, so time is not an issue here....
