Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Older Boy waved money in my face to convince me to rent a car today vs tomorrow. Renting today meant picking up at the airport, which is significantly more expensive (but he's paying the difference!), and getting there (and later, back) by Lyft is also more expensive than pickup and drop off at the Enterprise place a mile away that's closed on weekends.

All so HE doesn't have to take Lyft or Uber, or alternatively, walk through the park where the mountain lions live, in the dark, smelling of meat

No one but Boomers care about Woodstock.

For future reference.

I'll start a collection for you if you do your next wheel installation with this degree of difficulty.

When I was a carpenter, I would do side work....Cuz eating regular is fun. One time I was working in a commercial building and some exit signs needed deleting. But the Electrician kept blowing me off. After 3 days I had run out of things I could do, so I decided to give it a whirl. I opened the junction and each wire nut had 6 or 8 wires in it. I planned to hold the bundle with pliers and free up the wires I didn't need. Put the nut back on and I would be golden. So how I wound up on the floor from the top of a step ladder was a mystery to me. Turns out the conduit is the ground in commercial electrical....... who would guessed? 277 volt circuit I found out from the new electrician. And they had to abandon that circuit in the panel and rerun the Emergency lighting on a different breaker.
I'll swap out an outlet or switch. But not much else. I conduct way to well.

Yep. What the heck is the big deal of showing a plate, considering that we all drive around with them exposed?

This week looks real crappy too, cold and very windy. Tonight it’s going to be gusting close to 40, which makes a post work ride difficult

Too feed my addiction, I still ride in those conditions.

I always say, if they make me fly in it I can ride in it.

I worked outdoors most of my life in all conditions and i figure that's why i can ride in most anything. However, the last couple of years I've decided that I no longer want to. But at your age, I'd be crushing it even on the worst of days. So, go for it!

I'm much the same. The fixtures I did all involved connecting white to white, black to black, and ground to ground. Shut off the power first. This place was built like a house, so it was not hard or hazardous.
