Will a '86 FC7400 Dura Ace crank arm fit my '76 crank
My non-drive crank arm on my '76 Dura Ace crank broke today. I'll replace it with the right one when I can find it, but I ride it every day and want to get back on the road as soon as possible and can get an '86 FC7400 arm (same length 170 mm) right away. Looks like the same square fitting. Will it fit? Same size square fitting? Same opening for nut?

Yes, it should work. I would definitely try it. Not sure about the exact axle length differences between the older Dura Ace and the (still old) newer 7400. Could be a slightly different chainline but I would just mount it on the square tapers and then check clearances. It you run into any clearance issues, a used 7400 bottom bracket should be easy enough to spec.

Hope you're all good. I had the same break, same place on an nds 600 Arabesque, likely the same era. It was frightening. A closer look showed a void in the middle of the arm.
